Hello from the campaign trail!
But first, today is Sept. 11, and we must never forget the attack on our nation on 9-11-01 that will forever mark our history.
Passing on that history to our children and grandchildren is vital. Today, there are adults who weren’t even born on that day. For the families remembering loved ones lost, we pray. We honor the thousands of brave men and women who lost their lives in the war that followed. And we pray God’s protection and mercy on our country today and in the years to come.
Now on to the campaign in our own backyard…
We’re in the thick of it and energized for the battle!
So are YOU! A few evenings ago, I enjoyed talking with voters about the race alongside my House teammates Maria Syms and Matt Gress at the home of some new-to-Arizona Republicans – the Sebastian’s (see photos).
With the left gone mad, undermining our safety, harming our children, raising our taxes, and snatching for our freedoms at every turn, voters are appreciating the common-sense Arizona message we bring. We have our work cut out for us, but we are energized by your support. Thank you for stepping up, responding to events (there are more in the works!), and chipping in financially.
Wondering what you can do next? Hosting a house party to introduce us to YOUR friends and neighbors is VERY effective to win elections. So is sending an email of support to your friends and family. We can help you get started – just shoot us an email! Also, we’re delivering yard signs soon! Can we place a sign in your front yard?
Yes, I have a record! Wondering about my platform and what my record has been over the years on the important issues? I believe in backing up my words with action. You can review my newly updated record page here.
It took a tragic murder. It was only a matter of time before we’d witness another horrific murder due to the failure of Arizona’s mental health system – and its lack of accountability. You might recall the story. Tilda Manor, a behavioral health residential facility in Gilbert (which has been shut down, thankfully) is where it took place in May of 2021. This might have been a one-off story in the public’s view without Erica Stapleton’s investigative work, digging deeper into the root causes of this family’s horrific loss. This past Wednesday, I was pleased to join the unveiling of the “Locked Inside” documentary and panel on the intersection of mental healthcare and the criminal justice system in Arizona at ASU’s Cronkite School of Journalism. Mark Curtis from Channel 12 moderated – watch it here. They talk in detail about the failures of our behavioral health system and the necessary oversight reforms I’ve been working on.
PCH open about harming our kids. Speaking of mental health… There’s a lot of talk about it, but if our kids are receiving mental health counseling for sensitive gender identity issues through the schools, might it entail referral to a gender clinic at Phoenix Children’s Hospital? The hospital recently revealed that they are doing gender surgeries on minors, despite our recent passage of SB1138, which prohibits this irreversible genital mutilation of children. Charlie Kirk recently discussed how WPATH (World Professional Association for Transgender Health) is lowering the age for children to receive irreversible gender surgeries. In the face of this madness that is destroying the next generation, we must ensure parents have the tools to protect their children. That’s why I supported a common-sense bill ensuring parents have access to the school medical records of their child (yes, a bill was needed for that. Very troubling).
“We may not see her like again”. How many 21-year-olds do you know that make public speeches declaring commitment to God and Country and dedicating themselves to a sacred purpose for their future? The late-Queen Elizabeth did just that in a speech from Africa even before she was queen. For 96 years, she lived a life of dignity, honor, patriotism, and faithfulness to her country and marriage. She spent time with American Presidents starting with Dwight Eisenhower, and saw countless wars and cultural revolutions. Queen Elizabeth’s led England through some of the most pivotal moments of the 20th and 21st centuries. Her passing on Thursday marked the end of an era. Hers was a worthy example to follow, and she will be greatly missed from the world stage.
In that spirit, may we recommit ourselves to great purposes lived out with great character.
