Can you visualize a Trillion?

Millions…..Billions……Trillions – what’s the big diff?

It’s difficult to fathom, but a trillion is a one with 12 zeroes (1,000,000,000,000).  Not helping?  How about this comparison? 1 million seconds is 12 days; one billion seconds is 31 years; and one trillion seconds:  31,688 years.

Now remember the U.S. BORROWS .40 of every Federal dollar it spends!  Is it any wonder we are $16 Trillion in debt and falling further behind every day.  How to dig out?

  • Option One:  Raise taxes even more and send the economy further into recession.
  • Option Two:  Cut spending and reform entitlements, which account for the vast majority of Federal spending

Option Two is the only choice that makes any sense – in fact, an Urban Institute study about the entitlement benefits and taxes recipients will receive (and pay) over their lifetimes found that a senior with average wages retiring this year will have paid $58,000 in Medicare taxes – but will receive over $167,000 in Medicare benefits.

Vote Romeny – Ryan.  It’s the economic medicine this country needs.
