Obamacare’s results…so far
January 8, 2012 by nancy_barto
President Obama assured Americans in March of 2010: “If you like your health care plan, you will be able to keep your health care plan. Period. No one will take it away. No matter what.”
Not so fast. According to the Heritage Foundation, studies show millions will lose the coverage they have.
What is actually happening across the country as a result of the 4.2 billion words in rules and regs in place to date – and what can we expect if the law stands? “Obamacare in Pictures” tells the real story.
Dr. David Gelber’s “Rigid regulation can become Detrimental to Patient Care” recounts his last four days on the job. Will physicians ever again be able to treat patients as individuals?

I am retired and am 60 years old. I have a pacemaker so I pay $950/mo and have a $10,000 deductible. I cannot afford to pay this for the next 5 years. What are my options? If you do not support Obama’s healthcare what program will you support to help people like me?
Bonnie,
Obamacare will not make health care more affordable. Even the Administration’s own Congressional Budget Office admits it will drive health care costs UP! I support health reforms that will drive insurance costs lower and for people with pre-existing conditions, I support high risk pools. If structured properly, they can work. Most important is the fact that the only way government contains cost in managed care systems is by rationing care. I don’t believe that is what we want for our health care future.
I’m looking forward to 3/26/12 when SCOTUS hears the Affordable (wink-wink) Care Act cases. Docket #11-400. They’ve dedicated 5 and a half hours for arguments, reportedly more time than the court has given any case since 1970. Pray for Constitutional wisdom on the court.
