Women should not be lied to

June 24, 2015

Unfortunately, Planned Parenthood is suing to be able to continue to do just that.

You see, SB 1318 was signed into law this session.  The bill’s purpose is to ensure women seeking abortion are informed that it may be possible to reverse a medication abortion (aka Abortion Pill or RU-486), but that time is of the essence.  Planned Parenthood advocates opposed the bill, and now are suing.

This is just the latest in a series of lawsuits pro-abortion advocates have initiated when the expectation is for them to fully inform women.  Fortunately, of 34 measures designed to fully inform and protect women and their unborn children, 31 have been upheld by the courts and are in force today.  Only 3 are not.

Dear Speaker Boehner

June 16, 2015

As the eyes of the nation await the Supreme Court’s imminent ruling, 36 members of the Arizona Legislature, including myself, took time to sign the following letter, encouraging Speaker Boehner and Majority Leader McConnell not to bail out the flawed and harmful law that is Obamacare, but to enact health care policies that benefit all Americans.

June 10, 2015

Sen. Barto named Senator of the Year by Small Business Group

(Phoenix, State Capitol)—-Senator Nancy Barto received the Senator of the Year Award today from the National Federation of Independent Business/Arizona. NFIB honors two legislators each year for their efforts in assisting small business in our state.

The Arizona state director for NFIB says Senator Barto has been one of the staunchest champions of small business at the Arizona Legislature for almost a decade. “During the 2015 legislative session, Senator Barto took the lead to ensure that small businesses providing home support services for many of our most vulnerable Arizonans would continue free of unnecessary and destructive state government interference,” said Farrell Quinlan. “It is because of Nancy Barto’s leadership and faith in Arizona’s small business owners that countless thousands will continue to receive the care they need, especially as their services become more and more crucial with the Baby Boom Generation reaching retirement age.” [Read more]
